ERNIE FOSSA
DIRECTOR, FOUNDER/CO-OWNER
Ernie founded the Gramercy Pilates NYC studio in 2009. He has over 15 years of Pilates teaching experience and received his Pilates Certificate from the renowned Kane School of Core Integration known for its anatomical, biomechanical and injury approach to fitness. In 2009, Ernie created and co-produced the highly acclaimed Gramercy Pilates Teacher Training Program that takes a unique approach to teaching students the Pilates method. The Program offers an integrated learning approach to anatomy, biomechanics and movement principles in mind. This integrated approach facilitates the learning process for prospective Pilates teachers and allows them to focus more on how and why the Pilates method of exercise really works---for both healthy and clients with injuries. Ernie's teaching experience includes working with clients that have medical conditions and prospective Pilates teachers. In addition to his Pilates Kane School education, Ernie is also certified in the Core Align, the Gyrotonic Tower Expansion System and the Gyrotonic Jumping and Stretching Board. He has participated in many workshops including the Functional Anatomy for Movement for Injuries, (FAMI), Pilates For Men, Pilates Reformer, Chair and Barrel Intensive Training Workshops and All Props Workshops and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance, (PMA).
